School rules of Yoshida Institute of Japanese Language
We really want to support your dream come true here in Yoshida Institute of Japanese Language. We don’t want to push our rules on you, but you keep these rules in mind and do your best for your success.
This is how we consider when your attendance rate is low.
1. Without special reason, when your attendance rate is not more than 70% during three months before a Visa renewal, your application will not be accepted and you will be dismissed from Yoshida Institute of Japanese Language.
2. If we consider that your attendance rate is not improved, you will be dismissed from Yoshida Institute of Japanese Language even if your Visa status is long enough to study in Japan
3. When we consider that you are not healthy enough to continue your study in Japan, we will advise you to back to your country for a treatment. At this point, school fees won’t be paid back to you. However, when you become well and come back to study Japanese, you will be able to study for the term you had paid for.
This is how we consider when your performance is not good.
After a certain period of studying Japanese, if you still don’t master Basic Japanese, and if we consider that you are not suitable for learning Japanese, you may be advised to return to your country. In this case, a certain period means one year, which is half of the longest studying period.
4 EXAMINATIONS AND PROMOTION TO A UPPER CLASS
The end-of-term examination will be held four times a year (March, June, September and December). Promotion will be decided by the total results of end-of-term examination as well as scores of regular tests including several tests, Kanji tests, composition, home works, others. Your total score must be 60% or more for a promotion. If failed, you will have to repeat the same class. You can take the examination even if you are late, but your score will be counted with 90% of your performance, while you are not allowed to take a listening test. Please be careful that an additional examination will not be held.
If you give up and leave school, we will issue a level certification
The end-of-term examination :
In order to pass, (1) total score needs to be at or above the point required for passing and (2) Grammar score scoring section needs to be at or above the minimum point required for passing (sectional pass mark). If there is even one scoring section where the score is below the sectional pass mark, examinees are determined to have failed, no matter how high the total score he/she might have.
Scoring sections of A class and other calasses are different. Overall pass marks and sectional pass marks for each level are shown in the table below.
A class : Total score 60 %, Grammar : Sectional pass marks-less than 70 percent.
Other classes : Total score 60 %, Grammar : Sectional pass marks-less than 60 percent.
